British actor Rebel Wilson is well-known for her role as "Fat Amy" in the movie "Pitch Perfect" in 2012, and her round figure has become her trademark. However, she revealed that the sequel of the movie made her lose freedom in her life. The producer restricted her from losing weight and she had to maintain her fat image in order to create the image of a fat best friend.

In order to advance her career and get job opportunities in Hollywood, Rebel Wilson was forced to play a fat girl for a long time and pretend to be proud and positive about her body shape in public. She forced herself to show herself to people with a smile every day. I like my body shape and have no plans to lose weight.
Therefore, after completing the "Pitch Perfect" movie contract, Rebel Wilson decided to lose weight in revenge in order to express her dissatisfaction with the limitations of the past. She lost 30 kilograms in one fell swoop and changed her body shape. She has developed a keen interest in health and is now a fitness and health blogger.

Wilson once took Ozempic to lose weight and thought it could effectively control appetite.
Recently, Rebel Wilson spoke to the Sunday Times about her weight loss journey and the various methods she has adopted since 2020 - she has successfully lost approximately 80 pounds. Like many Hollywood stars, she tried the popular drug semaglutide and Ozempic, and some of her weight loss was attributed to Ozempic.
Ozempic's active ingredient is semaglutide, developed by global pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk. The drug was approved for marketing by the US FDA in 2017 and will be approved domestically in 2021 for the treatment of type 2 diabetes in adults.
“People like me may have an insatiable appetite for sweets, so I think drugs like semaglutide (Ozempic) are useful,” says Rebel Wilson, who has not continued taking semaglutide since losing 80 pounds. Meglutide, but pay more attention to your mental health.
Rebel Wilson said in the interview that she currently feels that her weight is in a very comfortable state and that her body is still curvy and strong. She strongly believes that young women should not aspire to look like Victoria's Secret models, but should look like themselves.

Semaglutide weight loss mechanism and weight loss efficiency
The main mechanism why semaglutide can achieve hypoglycemia and weight loss is that it can activate GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptors, promote insulin secretion in a glucose concentration-dependent manner, and inhibit pancreatic secretion. High glucagon secretion delays gastric emptying to increase satiety, and suppresses appetite by inhibiting the hypothalamic feeding center, thereby achieving the effect of lowering blood sugar and weight loss.

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 analog that shares 94% sequence homology with human GLP-1. In addition to its mechanism of reducing blood sugar and weight, semaglutide can also repair damaged intima, enhance endothelial function, and benefit the cardiovascular system.
Published in the New England Journal of Medicine, 1961 obese or overweight non-diabetic adults were enrolled in the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled STEP1 trial by Wilding et al. These participants were randomly assigned in a 2:1 ratio to receive semaglutide or placebo for 68 weeks, along with lifestyle intervention.
After 68 weeks, the results showed that the mean change in body weight was -14.9% in the semaglutide group compared to -2.4% in the placebo group. In terms of reaching weight loss thresholds, 86.4%, 69.1%, and 50.5% of participants in the semaglutide group lost more than 5%, 10%, and 15% of their body weight, respectively, compared with 31.5%, 12.0%, compared with 4.9% in the placebo group.
